Located in the historic Millville District of downtown Gig Harbor, Susanne’s Bakery creates delicious cakes,
pastries, breads, sandwiches, salads, and special orders.
We welcome you to come in and visit us to explore our freshly made items.
Our bakery and kitchen provide more items than are currently available on our online menu.
Some of our most popular items to start your day off include kouign amann, cinnamon rolls, croissants, and a large selection of muffins. Additionally, we have a wide variety of cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and other sweet treats. On the savory side, we offer hot sandwiches like our turkey panini and reuben, or choose from cold sandwiches like our Mike's Club, egg salad, and Genoa salami. All sandwiches are served on our freshly baked bread and accompanied by your choice of house-made pesto pasta or potato chips.

- I would like to place an order online but don't see how to change the date or time of pick up? We're so glad you're using our online ordering system! After you have clicked on the Regular Menu button, in the upper left-hand corner of the page of the menu/order form, you'll see a Change button next to the address. Click on that button, and you'll be taken to a window that allows you to select a new pickup day and time.
- Can you write something on my cake? Yes! Please keep in mind the length of your message and the size of you cake. If you are ordering online, there is a spot on the Payment Page for you to indicate the message that you would like us to write.
- Can you decorate my cake with frosting flowers or a custom design? Sorry, we are not able to do this. However, all our round cakes (3 layers) and sheet cakes (2 layers) can be left undecorated on top so you can make your own arrangements for the decorations.
- How do I place a special order? To request a special order, call or contact us by email. When requesting a cake, please include the type and size of the cake, as well as your name, contact number, and the date and time you'd like to pick-up the item. Please note that an email request is not a confirmed order until we have emailed you back.
- How far in advance do I need to order my cake? We usually need at least 2 business days, however weekends, holidays, and summertime often require more time. Please place your order as soon as you know you'll need it to avoid disappointment. A friendly reminder that we are closed on Mondays and Tuesday, so please call us during our regular business hours: 8am-4pm Wednesday through Saturday and 8am-3pm on Sunday. Or even better, order your cake at any time through our online ordering system!
- What if I need a cake for today or tomorrow? We usually require 2 business days notice, but please give us a call, and we may be able to accommodate your request.
- Do your cakes need to be refrigerated? It depends on the cake. All whipped cream, chocolate mousse, or cream cheese frosted cakes need to be refrigerated. Our buttercream frosted cakes do not require refrigeration.
- Do you offer wedding cake tastings? Congratulations and yes we do! Please take a look at the cakes that we offer and select up to 3 flavors. We will make cupcake versions of the cakes for your tasting. We charge $15 for 3 cupcakes and $30 for 6 cupcakes (2 of each flavor). Note: Normally, the minimum order of cupcakes is six of the same flavor combination, but for wedding cake tastings, we waive that minimum.
- Do you offer tiered wedding cakes? Sorry, we longer do tiered wedding cakes. However, all our round cakes (3 layers) and sheet cakes (2 layers) can be left undecorated on top so you can use your own topper or decoration.
- Do you offer delivery? Generally, no. However, if it's a local delivery in Gig Harbor, we may be able to accommodate you depending on our staffing availability. Please feel free to give us a call to discuss.
- Do you offer gluten free products? We have several items that are wheat free, but we are not a gluten free facility. Our carrot cake, carrot muffins, morning glory muffins, and vegan cookies are wheat free.
- Will you make me a cake from my own recipe? No, unfortunately we are unable to make custom recipes.
- How many mini focaccia sandwiches do you recommend? Our general recommendation is 2 mini sandwiches per person. They are approximately 2" by 2". The minimum order: 24 mini sandwiches.
- What type of mini focaccia sandwiches to you offer? We offer an assortment of our most popular sandwiches (e.g. turkey, Mike's Club, ham, salami, and roast beef). Veggie sandwiches are available upon request. Our sandwiches include mayo, mustard, lettuce, and tomato. We require a minimum order of 24 mini sandwiches, and please give us at least 24 hours notice.
- Do you sell gift cards? Yes! We have gift cards that can be purchased at the bakery, and we offer eGift cards that can be purchased by clicking here.
